you know, you can say a lot of bad things about homestuck and a lot of them are valid, but one good thing i will never forget:

when i first started reading homestuck i thought “oh, john and rose are gonna end up together”. he was a boy, she was a girl, they talked to each other early on, bam. it had to be. i am a lesbian but i knew the reality of the world we live in.

but! rose is gay! rose ended up with a girl! kanaya! and in fact, almost every homestuck character is gay, bi, or pan. there’s only 4 characters you could even make an argument for them being straight out of the main 20. and that’s something important.
